Prior to beginning his entertainment law career in 1996, Clifford Lo studied Economics and Political Science at Yale University, and obtained the legal degree of Juris Doctor (J.D.) at Boston College Law School.

Mr. Lo then cut his teeth in the industry as in-house counsel at The Walt Disney Company from 1996 until 2002, where he advised Disney’s international distribution divisions on intellectual property matters, talent deals, and production- and post-production- related matters.  Originally based at Disney headquarters in Burbank, California, Mr. Lo focused upon Latin America and Asia until 1999, then for the next three years worked on Western & Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Middle East.  For two of those years (1999 – 2001) he was based at Disney’s offices in London, England.  Mr. Lo’s Disney experience included film, direct-to-video, television, records, consumer products, videogames, internet, theme parks, and other media.  In 2002 Mr. Lo transitioned into private practice, as the principal of Law Offices of Clifford Lo.  He now uses his transactional studio background to benefit the careers of emerging filmmakers, screenwriters, and others in the entertainment business, both in the US and abroad.

Due to his international experience at Disney, as well as longstanding personal ties to both Europe and Asia, Mr. Lo is available to assist foreign-based production companies and talent who want to do business with ‘Hollywood’ and/or want to develop a regional or international film presence.  He can also assist US-based producers and talent doing films either in the US or in foreign locations or with foreign partners.
